การใช้ How

How  มีความหมายว่า อย่างไร เท่าใด แค่ไหน ใช้ถามเพื่อต้องการทราบถึงวิธีการ ลักษณะของบุคคล ถามอายุ ความสูง น้ำหนัก ความยาว ระยะทาง โดยมีรูปแบบโครงสร้างประโยคต่อไปนี้

9.1 ใช้ How ใช้ถามวิธีการ

โครงสร้างประโยคคำถาม	How + do/does + subject + verb ?

9.2 ใช้ How ตามด้วยคำ adjective ใช้ถามอายุ ความสูง น้ำหนัก ความยาว ระยะทาง

น้ำหนัก	A : How heavy is Suchada ? A : How heavy are you ?	B : She is 70 kilos. B : I am 45 kilos.
ความยาว	A : How long is a ruler ?	B : It is 12 inches long.
ระยะทาง	A : How far is it from here to Suchai ?	B : It is about 24 km.

9.3 ใช้ How ถามเกี่ยวกับสุขภาพ

โครงสร้างประโยคคำถาม	How + is/are + subject ?

9.5  How ใช้กับ many เพื่อถามจำนวนคน สิ่งของ หรือสัตว์ว่ามีจำนวนเท่าใด

 9.6  How ใช้กับ much เพื่อถามจำนวนสิ่งของที่นับไม่ได้
